DC Studios has offered fans a tantalising glimpse into its upcoming television spectacle Lanterns, releasing a haunting first trailer that hints at a darker and more suspense-laden chapter in the DC universe.
The two-minute teaser, unveiled on the studio’s official YouTube channel on March 5, introduces Emmy-winning actor Kyle Chandler alongside British star Aaron Pierre in the leading roles, immediately setting a tense and atmospheric tone.
The gripping preview opens with an intense sequence that quickly establishes the series’ brooding narrative, suggesting a story steeped in mystery, intrigue and peril.
The drama follows seasoned Green Lantern Hal Jordan, portrayed by Chandler, and new recruit John Stewart, played by Pierre, as they are dispatched to Nebraska to investigate a baffling murder case.
However, what initially appears to be a routine inquiry soon spirals into a far more sinister mystery, drawing the two intergalactic officers into a complex web of secrets and danger.

Within the DC mythos, the Green Lanterns are elite cosmic guardians empowered by emerald rings capable of manifesting luminous energy constructs of virtually any form, making them among the universe’s most formidable protectors.
The ensemble cast further includes Kelly Macdonald, Nathan Fillion, Garret Dillahunt and Poorna Jagannathan, adding further star power to the ambitious project.
The series is developed by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, with executive production overseen by a prominent creative team including James Gunn and Peter Safran.
With its chilling tone and intriguing premise, Lanterns is poised to become one of DC’s most eagerly awaited releases when it premieres in August this year.
