Karachi: It has been 35 years since the loss of Nirala, one of Pakistan’s most beloved film actors and comedians.

Born in 1937 as Syed Muzaffar Hussain Zaidi, he adopted the stage name Nirala and became a household name in Pakistan’s film industry.

Renowned for his impeccable comic timing, Nirala appeared in over 100 films and won widespread acclaim for his humorous and memorable roles.

Among his most notable works are Saperan, Mr. X, Shararat, Chhoti Behan, Heera Aur Pathar, Armaan, Ehsan, Duraha, Zameen Ka Chand, Insaan Aur Gadha, Jahan Tum Wahan Hum, and Naseeb Apna Apna. His role in Armaan brought him immense popularity and remains iconic in the history of Pakistani cinema.

Nirala’s final film was Choron Ka Badshah. On December 9, 1990, he passed away after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, entertainment, and an unforgettable mark on the film industry.
