The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) returned to London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, 22 February 2026, in a glittering celebration of global cinema’s finest achievements.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another led the nominations with 14 nods, closely followed by Ryan Coogler’s Sinners with 13, while Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet and Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme each garnered 11.
The 79th BAFTA Awards were hosted by Scottish actor Alan Cumming, guiding an evening of cinematic splendour and star-studded glamour.
Coverage commenced at 19:00 GMT with international audiences able to stream the event live via BritBox, E! Network in the United States and HBO Max for other regions.
Red carpet coverage began an hour earlier, offering viewers a glimpse of the attending Hollywood luminaries and emerging talent.
The In Memoriam segment featured poignant performances by K-pop sensation Demon Hunters and British singer Jessie Ware, providing a heartfelt tribute to the figures the industry has lost over the past year.
