MAILSI: A comprehensive cleanliness and waste management arrangements have been finalized in Mailsi ahead of Eid-ul-Azha under the Suthra Punjab initiative in collaboration with Daewoo Waste Management.
A flag-march-style rally was held under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Mailsi Saad bin Khalid and Regional Manager of Daewoo Waste Management, Aqeel Ahmed. As part of the initiative, plastic waste bags were distributed among residents across various urban areas.
The drive aims to ensure proper disposal of sacrificial animal waste during Eid-ul-Azha, preventing littering in open spaces and reducing health and environmental risks.
Teams distributed bags in Rehman Town and surrounding areas, urging citizens to collect and dispose of animal waste responsibly instead of dumping it in open spaces.
Daewoo Waste Management Tehsil Incharge Farooq Ahmed said the rally was “a power show of our machinery and equipment.” He added that all sanitation machinery and staff have been fully mobilized to respond promptly to public complaints during Eid days.
He noted that the campaign covers the entire tehsil, and residents are being encouraged to use the distributed bags to maintain cleanliness and prevent the spread of germs and foul odors.
Authorities stated that sanitation operations will remain active throughout the Eid period, with monitoring teams in place to ensure immediate action on complaints.
