Nahid Rana has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for April 2026 following his strong performance in the ODI series against New Zealand national cricket team.

The young fast bowler played a key role in Bangladesh’s 2-1 series win, taking eight wickets in three matches with an average of 16.75 and an economy rate of 4.46. His best performance came in the second ODI in Mirpur, where he took five wickets for 32 runs. He also picked up one wicket in the first match and two in the final game, earning the Player of the Series award.

This is the first time Rana has won the ICC monthly award, making him the second Bangladesh men’s player to receive it after Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Rana was shortlisted alongside Jatinder Singh and Ajay Kumar for the award.

After receiving the honour, Rana said he felt proud to perform well against a strong team like New Zealand, adding that playing at home made the achievement even more special. He thanked his teammates for their support and said he hopes to continue contributing to more victories for his team.
